Lymph Drainage
Who is it for?
Lymph drainage is beneficial for anyone looking to support their body’s natural detoxification processes to, improve immune function, and boost overall well-being.
(Detoxification = removing toxins we naturally accumulate in our body systems, environmentally pick up, or through any treatment programs, medications and so on)
It’s ideal for individuals experiencing symptoms like:
- Swelling,
- Joint pain,
- Fatigue,
- Cellulite,
- Weight gain,
- Skin concerns
- Bowel issues, bloating
- Sinus concerns
- Lung Health
- Breast/prostate
- Female pelvic issues etc
Great for those interested in enhancing their body’s resiliency, energy levels, as well as improving thinking, clarity, memory of the mind.
Helpful for travelling when re-calibration is needed after jet lag, climate changes, food and drink variables and general pattern changes.
If you are looking to ease and clear the body after a bout of illness, surgery or a strong stress factor in life.
Those who are pro-actively seeking attention during the change of seasons when time, climate, temperature most affect us.
Your blood cells travel on a highway and are constantly transporting the ‘goods’ to various destinations in the ‘city’ like cells and tissues.
En-route in and out of cells and tissues, the blood brings its’ load and, like any bustling city, garbage/waste is left behind in the process.
The lymphatic system is the sanitation/clean up crew which has its’ own Highway and begins collecting and transporting (garbage trucks) the approximately 3 litres of this clear to white liquid (LYMPH) up through a busy network of streets (lymph vessels)
Throughout the body, these ‘garbage trucks’ stop in at over 800 sanitation stations (lymph nodes) throughout the body. Here the lymph is filtered of bacteria, viruses and more as well as giving constant communication updates on health aspects.
Ultimately, this waste is brought to the upper chest area where 2 major ‘highway on ramps’ are used for the lymph fluid to re-enter your bloodstream and cycle through again.
Sluggish circulation of these garbage trucks (Lymph) can lead to an unhealthy environment around cells and tissues much like that of a garbage strike when it all just keeps piling up. If not removed, cells become sick and eventually die.
A Healthy Lymphatic System helps remove our gunk, waste, and garbage which is vital to protect the body from infection and disease.
What is the Lymph System?
When to use this modality?
Lymph drainage can be beneficial during times of increased stress, fatigue, illness, or inflammation, and after periods of inactivity.
A chronic lifestyle resulting in a tense body, restricted breathing, excess/poor food consumption, caffeine, alcohol, medication etc )
It’s particularly useful for addressing many symptoms leading to or resulting in low energy.
Use Lymph drainage as part of a regular wellness routine to maintain optimal lymphatic flow and prevent build-up of toxins in the body.
For best results, plan a session when you have time later that day/evening to take a bath (speak to practitioner about shower) and are able to support your body with hydration and gentle movement.
Lymph drainage is a gentle, therapeutic technique designed to stimulate the flow of lymph fluid through the body.
This specialized treatment also helps reduce congestion in the lymphatic system which then promotes the elimination of toxins.
Using light pressure, the technique encourages the movement of Lymph (interstitial fluid) through the lymph highway system.
Moving the Lymph is helpful in clearing and increasing the bodymind’s communication pathways which will ripple out to support the various areas areas of your life: promoting physical and mental well-being.
This modality increases the awareness of the immune system because moving the excess sludge creates a stronger focus ability on body areas needing extra immune support and attention without the excess sludge to detract.
Beyond the physical benefits, it can also enhance mental clarity and reduce stress, supporting a balanced and focused state of mind.
For anyone facing a high-stress lifestyle, chronic health issues, or seeking overall wellness, lymph drainage can be a valuable addition to self-care routines.
How does this modality help me with my symptoms, my health goals and my overall bodymind Joy?
How does a Lymph Drainage session unfold?
A successful Lymph session involves you!
It is important to do some easy, self care after your session to bring your lymph system into the final phase of optimal functioning, so please consider that when booking your appointment.
Come to your session in comfortable, non-restrictive clothing (underwire bras left at home).
Preferably no alcohol for 24 hours prior and, if possible, for a couple of days post session.
The practitioner will always check the priority areas and sequence for the light pressure, hand movements made on the body (over clothing).
As the technique encourages the movement of interstitial fluid through lymph vessels and the layers of the body, clients are welcome to relax.
Clients may feel gentle movement and/or sensations throughout the body as well as calm and restfulness.
Clients are encouraged to breathe a little deeper and at certain points may be asked to describe sensations.
Post session Self care instructions are provided.
It is very important to be able to hydrate after the session and for a few days afterwards.
Some gentle, light exercise may be encouraged, so allow time for this.
It is also recommended to book a session time where you can enjoy a bath later on in the day or that evening. (let practitioner know if showering for instruction)
Sessions are available both in-person, remotely and distance.
Joy Found!
Fiona’s attentiveness throughout the whole process from booking till the end of session, left me feeling very relaxed and comfortable from the start which is important to me as my anxiety levels are quite high.
The movements were gentle, but I could feel movement in parts of the body where she was not even at! Fiona explained what was happening and, at that moment, I realize how interconnected the whole body is.
I followed the directions for Post session Self Care and really felt I was part of a spa.
I book now at regular intervals as I realize how much the sessions are helping with my pain and my digestive issues.
I highly recommend these sessions as a way to feel great both inside and out.

My schedule was such that I was unable to come into the praxis, but I really wanted to try the Lymph session. Fiona suggested the remote option. I was sceptical , but decided to book it.
At home, I got ready as per the pre-session instructions and we began.
I was immediately relaxed and even felt some gentle movements of my body.
There was a particularly sticky spot and I could feel when it finally released! That was amazing.
After that session, I was convinced that remote sessions can work.
Although I prefer being in the same space as Fiona, when it came up that I couldn’t make an in-person BodyTalk session, I didn’t hesitate to do the Distance option.

I had been seeing Fiona for BodyTalk sessions and then there was the suggestion to try a Lymph session.
It was all well explained and during the session, I felt very relaxed and comfortable.
The next BodyTalk session was surprising to us both as the items that came up were very quickly shifted and we were able to address a number of items. It was as if the movement of the lymph had created a back up which was now flowing smoothly.
I now make sure to book my Lymph sessions regularly to complement my BodyTalk schedule.
